Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about joining STG? Here are some common questions from prospective members.

What are the membership requirements?

You must be a current University of Michigan student with a passion for travel and cultural exploration. We welcome students from all majors and class years.

How much do trips typically cost?

There is no cost to join STG and no cost to you for going on the trip. We will cover all expenses for the trip including flights, accommodations, meals, and activities.

How many trips do you take per year?

We have 1 major trip each year over Spring Break. We leave on the Saturday after clases end and return the Sunday before classes start. You must be available during the trip dates to join.

What if I've never traveled internationally?

No problem! We welcome travelers of all experience levels. We support and guide first-time international travelers feel confident including passport assistance.
